It is so easy to make your own nut milk! As I previously said I haven’t banned completely dairy products from my diet. I am not lactose intolerant. My main issue with dairy is the amount of antibiotics and hormones that are given to the animals. Although the amounts might be considered small and it is somehow controversial whether they are harmful or not, their simple presence in the milks and cheeses we consume is quite disturbing to me.

One way to avoid all those unwanted substances is buying organic dairy products. The other one is making your own mylks and cheezes from nuts.

For this mylk I chose macadamia nuts because the result is so nice and creamy you won’t even need to strain it, and that will make it easier for those of you who don’t own a nut mylk bag. No need for one. All you need is a blender and you are ready to go.


1 cup of macadamia nuts

4 cups of water

Soak the macadamia nuts in water for at least 2 hours.

Rinse them well.

Place them in the blender with 4 cups of water and blend for 1 minute.
