A once a week detox is so much easy to “digest” than other longer programs and still can be great for your body if you give your digestive system a break for 24 hours. If you have never detoxed before, it is a perfect way to get started and see how it feels for you.
Can we detox while eating? Absolutely yes! While we are exposed to numerous toxins everyday, our bodies are amazing “machines” and we can help them detox by feeding them clean foods and eliminating all sources of inflammation, chemicals and allergens.
How to do to help your body detox? During 24 hours eat plenty of leafy greens and fruits, drink at least 8 glasses of water and practice some yoga. To take the detox to another level practice dry brushing your skin, enjoy a sauna or take a bath with Epsom salt.
What are the benefits of a 24 hour detox?
– More energy;
– Clarity of thought;
– Brighter skin and eyes;
– Better sleep quality, you will be more rested when you wake up;
– Improved digestion – diminished bloating, gas, heartburn, etc.
– Pain relief – headaches, arthritis pain, etc.
– Better mood.

So if your are tempted to make a change in your eating habits and want to give this detox a try, here is how to do it:
– On the day before your detox, reduce the consumption of meat, coffee and caffeinated drinks, alcohol, starches, processed and pre-cooked meals.
– Start the day of your detox by drinking a glass of water with the juice of 1/2 a lemon. I usually add also some spices like cayenne pepper, ginger, turmeric and cinnamon… to maximize the detoxing effects.
