One of the things I miss the most when I’m away from home is my juicer. I started juicing a couple of years ago and I could totally feel a difference. Green juices are packed with nutrients. The chlorophyl in the veggies has a similar molecular structure as that of our blood cells, so starting the day with a green juice is like receiving a blood transfusion, it will improve you blood circulation, oxygenate your body, give you a boost of energy and will cleanse your digestive system, lungs, liver… Green juice is rich in vitamins, minerals, enzymes and amino acids to nourish our insides for healthy skin, hair, nails and teeth.

Some advice when making your Green Juice:

  • Go organic: Aim for organic greens whenever possible
  • The darker the better: The darker the leafy greens you use the denser they are in nutrients
  • Change greens: Don’t use the same greens all the time. Plants carry a trace of alkaloids (which in small doses is okay) and you don’t want the same alkaloids to build up in your system, so mix it up and you’ll be safe
  • Drink inmediately: You can keep your juice up to one day in the fridge but the sooner you drink it the better because your juice will begin to oxidise and breakdown 30 minutes after it is pressed
  • Running on empty: Green juices are better consumed on a empty stomach. Starting your day with a green juice will help your body cleanse and get rid of toxins. If this is not possible it’s best to consume fresh juices before meals or a few hours after



  • 2 cups of spinach
  • 2 cups of chard
  • 1 cucumber
  • 1/2 lemon (with rind)
  • 1/2 bunch of parsley
  • 2 celery ribs
  • 1 knob of ginger
